L'orgue de St Jacobi a été construit par Arp SCHNITGER en 1693 dans la galerie ouest de l'église.
Avec ses 60 jeux et environ 4.000 tuyaux, c'est l'instrument baroque le plus important de l'Europe du Nord.
L'orgue a été entièrement restauré à partir de 1989 par les Ets ARHEND et inauguré à Pâques 1993.
